Coorg chicken fry is a dry and spicy chicken made with the marinade of Indian spices.

Ingredients :

 

  • Boneless Chicken cut into small pieces - 500g
  • Onion - 1 medium
  • Lemon juice - 1 tblsp
  • Oil - 50ml or 3 tblsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Grated coconut - 1 tblsp
  • Salt - to taste

Marinade:

  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Ginger - 1 inch long and 3/4 inch wide piece
  • Garlic - 5 cloves
  • Cumin (Jeera) seeeds - 1 tsp
  • Pepper corn - 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2½ tblsp


Method :
  1. Grind all the ingredients listed under Marinade into a smooth paste.
  2. Marinate the chicken pieces with the ground marinade paste and salt for about 2-3 hours.
  3. Chop the onion. Rinse the curry leaves. Grind the grated coconut with little water.
  4. Heat a pan and add oil.
  5. Add the chopped onion and half of curry leaves and fry for about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Add the chicken pieces and ground coconut to the pan; stir, cover and cook on low heat for about 5-6 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle water if needed.
  8. Add lemon juice.
  9. Garnish with curry leaves.
  10. Coorg chicken fry is ready to be served.


Notes : This dish can be served as an appetizer.
