Ingredients :


  • Fine Semolina - 250g
  • Sugar - 150g
  • Ghee Or Oil - 75ml
  • Water - 500ml
  • Cashewnuts - 25g
  • Raisins - 10g (optional)
  • Cloves - 2
  • Orange colouring powder - a pinch (optional)
  • Ghee - 10g for shiny look (optional)

Method :
  1. Roast Semolina without any oil and set aside.
  2. Roast cashewnuts in a tsp of Ghee and set aside.
  3. Heat a pan and add rest of the Ghee/Oil.
  4. Season with cloves.
  5. Add water and colouring and let it boil.
  6. Add semolina and sugar slowly to the pan by stirring and cook it until kesari becomes nearly solid in texture.
  7. Add more ghee if you prefer for a shiny look.
  8. Garnish with cashewnuts and raisins.
