Spicy Hoppers

Spicy hoppers are a special dish that are made in Southern towns of Tamilnadu, India. These can be eaten just with sugar or any Indian curry.

Main Ingredient : Egg Rice
Recipe Type : Breakfast Dinner

Ingredients :

 

  • Aappam batter - 2 cups
  • Oil - for greasing

Ingredients for grinding

  • Grated Coconut - 2 tblsp
  • Ground Fennel seeds (Sounff/Sombu) - 1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Onion - 1/2 medium
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Egg - 2


Method :
  1. Grind the ingredients listed for grinding with little water.
  2. Add it to the Hopper(Aappam) batter.
  3. Heat a frying pan.
  4. Take a big spoon of batter and pour it flat on the pan.
  5. Grease it with oil around the hopper, cover and cook.
  6. Turn it over after few minutes.
  7. Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes again.
  8. Remove it from the pan.
  9. Repeat the last 5 steps until all the batter is finished.
