Bhindi Pakora

Bhindi/Okra pakora can be a side-dish/starter for lunch. Tempura like dish is a healthier way of eating the vegetable.

Ingredients :

 

  • Bhindi - 250g
  • Besan(Gram Flour) - 100g
  • Ground Rice - 50g
  • Chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Asafoetida - 2 pinch
  • Oil - 2 tblsp
  • Oil - 250ml for frying
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as required

Method :
  1. Remove head and tail from bhindi. Slit the vegetable into two or three pieces.
  2. Combine besan, ground rice, chilli powder, 2 tblsp of oil, salt and asafoetida.
  3. Add the vegetable to the flour mix and set it aside for 15 minutes.
  4. If the mix is too dry, add 2-3 table spoons of water and mix well.
  5. Deep fry the vegetables in the oil batch by batch.
